Once it gets to that point the ac does not come back on.
Roof unit rv cuts on and off.
A few weeks ago i also checked the voltage running to the compressor when it tries to kick on i forget the exact voltages running to it but i think the lead from the run capacitor was dropping to like 50v i ll check again if this should be looked into.
By pat malavasic greeley colo question.
Mary robbie when ac unit has been off for a while and you turn it on it runs ok for a while until trailer is cooled then when it needs to come back on is when the problem starts of on again off again.
The trouble could be with the power supply if the ac does not switch on.
If it can t be unplugged then power the ac down and make sure the unit is at room temperature before attempting to clean it the condenser coils which we mentioned above.
These can be accessed via the roof of your rv.
This is a generalized guide for rvs.
We recently purchased an older 5th wheel.
The interior is in very good condition and i believe the unit has been well cared for.
This guide is not unit or brand specific.
Water dripping from rv roof ac.
There are evaporator coils inside the air conditioning system.
The coils can also freeze due to refrigerant leak so check for any puncture or crack.
When the ac was turned one the first time the ac works fine but water was dripping down the outside of the camper.
If we turn the thermostat off and back on the ac will run another cycle and then not come back on again.
Sometimes is sounds like the compressor tries to come on and cannot and then clicks off.
The next step is to remove the air conditioning unit from the roof as it will be much easier to work with.
You ll have to take off the top of the air conditioning unit by loosening its bolts.
Remove the screws that hold the ac unit to the rooftop of your rv and set them aside.
The unit will run until the inside temperature gets down to the set point.
When the rv air conditioner turns on and off repeatedly during nights or humid days freezing evaporator coils are likely to be the culprit.
Check the rv fuse and breaker to see if anything is blown out or tripped.
Then you will need to observe whether there is an electrical connector and if there is what sort of connection there is.
Replacing the blown fuse or fixing the tripped breaker will solve the problem.
Turning the air conditioner on and off frequently may cause this problem.
The inside temperature can go 10 or more degrees above the set point.
The ac system has a control board and a failing control board can cause the air conditioner to cut on and off in a repeated cycle.
